Final Steps of Iran To Centralize Energy Revenues in Austria
As per special reports received by PIMI about half a year ago, Iran is more than serious to centralize her Oil revenues from EU in an Austrian Bank. Even disclosed yet, but yesterday (June 4th 2016) meeting between the Iranian Economy & Finance Minister (Ali Tayyebnia) and Rudolph Scholten, Dirctor General of ACB shows the signs of the final steps towards this decision. The news already published by IRI’s public media says:
Economy Minister Ali Tayyebnia met on Saturday with Rudolf Scholten, director general of the “Austrian Control Bank” in Vienna discussing issues of mutual interests.
Tayyebnia is currently in Vienna to attended the meeting of economy ministers of the Funds of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries in the Austrian capital.
During the meeting, Scholten voiced his readiness to cover the implementation of different projects and issuance of the needed guarantees.
Tayyebnia, for his part, pointed to the previous meetings which resulted removal of the problems of arrears and underlined the need for expediting the implementation of the relevant projects.
The Iranian economy minister pointed to the measures taken in Iran to fight money-laundering, fighting financial support for the terrorist groups and the relevant approvals by the Iranian parliament, and said the economy ministry is ready to do the needed cooperation in all financial and banking areas.
Since oil discovery in Iran, more a century ago, British banks have always been the Europe’s central focal for accumulating the Iran’s oil revenues, and if such a project will be operational without any new conflict between Iran and UK, then for the very first time in the Iranian oil history, another country would be responsible for depositing the Iran’s oil and energy incomes.
