Tabriz Petrochemical Company will Greatly Help Downstream Industries: The petrochemical factory of Tabriz is going to be a great help to downstream industries in East Azerbaijan province, said Marzieh Shahdaei, CEO of the National Iranian Petrochemical Company (NIPC).
Speaking in a meeting with Tabriz Refinery and Tabriz Petrochemical Co. officials, Shahdaei said the opportunity is owing to the fact that Tabriz Petrochemical Co. can produce 11 different products as well as over 20 grades of petrochemicals, NIPNA reported on Saturday.
“Today petro-refineries have grown so much in importance. The geographical proximity of the Tabriz Refinery and Tabriz Petrochemical creates a special opportunity for balanced development. The opportunity can be grasped to achieve the highest efficiency possible.”
“About 48 percent of the petrochemical firm’s shares are owned by the refinery, which can, through cooperation between these two great hubs, facilitate more efficiency.”
She also noted that there are great talents among the workforce occupied at Tabriz Petrochemical Co., adding that their expertise can be used to develop the whole country’s petrochemical industry.
“Thanks to its industrial and human infrastructure, Tabriz Petrochemical can play a great role in bringing the value chain full circle. The existing capacities, therefore, need to be tapped,” Shahdaei reiterated.
Tabriz Petrochemical Co. is located in southern west of Tabriz, next to Tabriz refinery in about 380 hectares of land and altitude of 1362 meters above sea level.
Tabriz Petrochemical Co. is a producer of raw polymers, polyethylene, polystyrene, and ABS each in different grades.
The factory’s main feed and consumed raw materials are naphtha, LPG, Acrylonitrile, AMS, Mineral Oil, PBR, and other chemicals that are provided by Tabriz and Tehran refineries, as well as affiliated petrochemical companies in southern Iran.
