Extrusion grade of HDPE confronted with an inflated market due to an unexpected overhaul of Amir-Kabir petchem and lower supply by the two main suppliers (Jam and Shazand petrochemical companies). A countless expectation of brokers for the days ending to the third week of Sept. (or the last summer week in Iran) was an identical passionate market that normally exists for the holly month of “Moharram”. At this month huge donations (specially in the shape of cooked meals) are served free of charge to the community and this needs an extra production of disposable containers, plates, dishes and foam PS for food distribution.
The Tehran based central stock exchange, IME’s (Iran Mercantile Exchange), experts which monitor the polymer markets each day and normally on Sundays have a briefing and weekly analysis for this market, have reported that, at the last Iranian summer week of Shahrivar (September’s 3rd week) the market challenged a lower boom trade. Though, the supply volume was increased by bout 3.5 ktons in comparison with last weeks supplies (Click Here)
The total trade volume at the week ending to Sept. 21st showed more than 4.3 ktons decrease, that might be due to a sudden stop in the world market prices. The brokers in Iran, no matter that Iran is a main polymer producer in the region, always are following the global market for their decision makings. Only 72% of what was offered was traded at the IME hall.
Following tables show the last two weeks’ “ODV” index for the Iranian market and the breakdown of polymers supplied in last two weeks
