The second day of the K 2019 preview was the day of giants of materials science, technology and production. Companies like Wacker Chemie, Lanxess AG, Covestro Deutschland AG and BASF SE took the stage one by one respectively and filled out the digital storage of participants’ devices. Journalists of course were the most interested audiences at the event.
With respect to the timing, this material day, of course was devoted to the companies that had more to say and show.
Wacker Chemie, one of the famous material producers, was the first company that staged to show its innovation within 45 minutes. Dr. Wolfgang Schattenmann of the comany later showed the company’s particular importance to integrated environmental protection. He said: “Wacker constantly strives to improve its production processes in order to conserve resources.”
LANXESS AG, the 2nd company to represent its goals and innovations, took 1 hour to explain about tens of new innovations and its future goals for the industry. Later, Dr. Michael Zobel said: “Lanxess wants to be the digital leader in the chemical industry. That is why they are approaching the entire value chain in their digital transformation journey.”
Using 90 minutes, the third giant material producer was Covestro Deutschland AG. A global company that had a lot to say. Covestro team explained about “Publishing the boundaries for a sustainability and digital world”. The last company that used more time than any others (3 hours and 15 minutes) was the BASF SE that had a lot to present for today’s human life and environment. With 14 invited people on stage, BASF provided its own press conference in the afternoon and offered a lot of information to the journalists for example in the field of “chemical recycling of multilayer films”, presented by Johannes Remmele, SÜDPACK Verpackungen.
