The Gachsaran Olefin Petrochemical project was put into operation by the order of the Iranian President with an investment of 1.3 billion euros and an annual production capacity of one million tons of ethylene and 84 thousand tons of C3+.
According to reporters at the oil field, Gachsaran Petrochemical project as the most Iranian olefin base in the country was put into operation today (Monday, July 26) in the presence of President Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi and Oil Minister Javad Oji after 19 years since its approval in 2003. Gachsaran Petrochemical Complex receives one million and 250 thousand tons of ethane gas annually from Bidbland Gas Refining Company of the Persian Gulf through a 90 km pipeline, and produces one million tons of ethylene and 84 thousand tons of C3+ (propane cut and heavier), which in addition to generating income and creating wealth, it also supplies food to the complexes located on the route of the western ethylene pipeline, as well as Mamasani, Dehdasht, Borujen, Kazerun and Polymer Gachsaran petrochemical complexes. Gachsaran Petrochemical has been built with an estimated cost of about 1.3 billion euros on a land with an area of approximately 157 hectares in the city of Gachsaran the centre of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province. The company is owned by Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries with 46.37%, Kazrun Petrochemical with 10.80%, Borujen Petrochemical with 9.05%, Mamasani Petrochemical with 10.80%, Dehdash Petrochemical with 10.23% and Sepehr Saderat Financial Group with 11. 70% that are the shareholders of this company.
Gachsaran Petrochemical Complex supplies the required water from the Kausar dam of this city with a 28-inch pipeline of 27 kilometers and an annual amount of 12 million cubic meters, the required gas fuel in the amount of 53 thousand and 900 cubic meters per hour from the national line and the required 50 megawatts of electricity from the Khuzestan Regional Electricity Company. The design, construction and installation of the important equipment required for the Gachsaran petrochemical project has been carried out in cooperation with knowledge-based centers and more than 70 Iranian companies, so that more than 83% of the equipment of this project is domestically manufactured and has brought savings of 269 million euros, out of which 33 million euros of sensitive and high-tech equipment have been domesticated for the first time. Therefore, Gachsaran Petrochemical is called as the most Iranian olefin bases in the country. In addition to creating wealth and providing feed for its downstream industries, Gachsaran Petrochemical will play an effective role in improving and promoting the economic conditions of Gachsaran and surrounding cities, so that this project will directly and up to three times indirectly create employment for more than 3 thousand people during construction and about 1 thousand people during operation.
