According to “Bijan Namdar Zanganeh” the Oil Minister of IRI, over $4 billion of petrochemicals will be added to the country’s sub-oil industry value in this Iranian calendar year.
The Oil Minister commented at inauguration of the “Lorestan Petchem Complex”; A huge complex at the western provinces of Iran (please refer to previous news). The text run of this huge petrochemical complex started about a year ago and inaugurated today, one day later than official agenda for this event.
Zanganeh said to reporters that: “In the current calendar year (began March 20, 2016) over 8 million tons of petrochemical products will be added to the current production of petchems in Iran. He confirmed that: “The production capacity of Kavian Petrochemical Complex is two million tons of which one million tons was put into operation and the other one will become operational by the end of the current year.
The Oil Minister added: “Petrochemicals are among the most significant indicators of ‘resistant economy’ which prevents raw selling of crude oil and leads to more employment and extraversions which are the characteristics of resistant economy.”
He, pointing to the opening of the two Kurdestan and Mahabad petrochemical complexes, also said that: “With the operation of the two complexes 960 thousand tons will be added to the polyethylene and other polymers.”
