Iranian Polymer Firms Fail Green at annual Festival: The Association of Plastics Industries (Assoplast) on Sunday hosted the ninth national festival of polymer industry, where top companies received recognitions. The jury of the festival, however, considered no award to be given in the Green Industry section, Iran National Plastics Industry Association (INPIA) reported.
Special guests to the event included deputy minister of industry “Ayoubi Mehridi”, Chemical and Cellulose Industries’ Director “Parvin Nabati”, and Market Development Director at downstream industries development of the National Iranian Petrochemical Co. Ruhollah Kiani.
As the first speaker, Hassan Mirheidari pointed to the expiration of the current administration term of the Assoplast and said the managers of this period tried their best to do valuable services for the plastics industry.
For his part, Morteaza Shahrabi (the ceremony secretariat) provided a brief history of the festival and added, “The great change in this round has happened in the section for assessing the nominees.”
“This was carried out thanks to the efforts of Mr. Turk, by suing an organizational sublimation model based on which a questionnaire was drafted and the units were evaluated.”
“The idea was an initiative of Bijan Amini and was followed by the other colleagues,” he noted.
Mohammad Munesan in a short comment introduced the Cultural Committee and its members.
For his part, Mehrizi started with a few questions, saying, “Why should not we ask ourselves about the reason that despite our population, resources, geography, oil, gas, mine, Eco-Diversity we do not have one percent of the world trade, value added, capital, or trade? Why do we not find our place?”
“We should not engage in self-censorship. We should always ask each other why we are not reaching our real stance. Problems are being repeated ever. But will we reach our one percent share once problems are solved? We should ask why we have problems in thinking, management, efficiency, etc. These questions should be posed and turned into demand by the media.”
Mehdi PourQazi, head of the jury, was another speaker. “In this festival the first step was to evaluate the event. There were 24 candidates in this round, one of which resigned and 23 remained,” he said.
PourQazi said that the festival included four categories: Top Industrial Unit, Top Export Unit, Top Plan, and Green Unit.
Then, Alireza Turk explained the changes in the current version of the festival. He said the major changes related to the causes of the festival.
