TEHRAN, Feb. 08 — Iranian petrochemical plants supplied 42.1 million tons of petrochemical products in the first 10 months of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 20.
Only in the Iranian month of Dey (December 21- January 19), the plants processed 4.05 million tons of petrochemicals.
During the same month, 1.68 mt of products were exported fetching the country $899.9m in revenues.
Ilam, Karbon Iran, Tabriz, Shiraz, Urmia, REja, Laleh, Noori and Zagros were the most prolific facilities during the month.
Background Of Karbon Iran :
After studies on providing the industrial black requirements for consumption in rubber factories, it became clear that building a carbon factory in Iran is essential and economical. For this target, National Petrochemical Industries Company and Industries and Mines Development Bank signed a contract with one of the most famous companies producing industry black in the United Provinces named Cabot Corporation. Controlled by both Iranian engineers and an American company called Simon Caroz construction operations started in Ahvaz, in 1972. After construction and installation of machineries in January 1974, operations started with the annual capacity of 14000 tons. ICC could attract domestic markets, mainly tire factories, early at the very time of production due to high quality of its products. With the fast development and improvement of tire factories it became necessary to develop carbon companies. In the year 1977, all the steps were made to increase the production from 14000 to 16000 tons per a year and purchase of machineries started. At the time of victory of Islamic Republic of Iran in February 1978 nearly 80% of the required items were supplied and the remaining were suspended because of the US sanctions. In the year 1982 with the effort of engineers and staff of ICC and with the cooperation of experts of National Petrochemical Industries Company the remaining parts were completed in Iran and the ideal development without the help of foreign experts were implemented and in mid 1982 continued its activities with the capacity of 19000 tons.
The company was acting out like the other companies with the help of foreign experts. After the plaintive victory of the Islamic Revolution the staff of ICC continued their production with honor, without foreign experts. They continued their duties without a break with the high quality and quantity in such a way that the capacity of unit 1 increased to 30000 tons annually. This rate showed an increase of 30% compared to the planed rate. In addition quality of the product is improved up to 100%. These achievements and increasing the amount of product are along with the observation of environment commitments, preventing environment pollution and protecting environment standards.
Considering increase of daily needs for domestic factories to industry black products as the prior input and the necessity of exports and currency supply and being along with the country economic growth, development of carbon factories was considered. In the year 1989 industry black project with the goal of building a similar factory next to the existing one with the capacity of 30000 tons per year was approved. The base capital was 13200 million Rials and 20 million USD and the value of imported product was predicted 21 million USD per year. All the project steps were implemented by experienced Iranian specialists and experts; including, first studies, designing, implementing and installation. Production process for the industry black or carbon black is under automatic control with the use of Distributed Control System (DSC) that is implemented by using technical knowledge of experts and staff. This is considered a big jump in petrochemical industries.
At present ICC is active with 2 production units with the capacity of 50000 tons of industrial black per year. According to privatization policy of the government of Islamic Republic of Iran, this company in the year 1995 changed into a public joint stock and joined the petrochemical investment company groups. At present ICC is an active member of stock exchange. From the beginning of production; ICC, committed itself to follow the national standards (4328) and international standards (ASTM), which is one of the most credible standards in carbon production. This company is obliged to follow the quality management system. This is why we are international. We are strongly mentioning that ICC has a special position among big international companies and the result is exports to “Michele France” the biggest credible producer of tires in the world. By following the desired quality products and establishment of standard systems and to arrive in international competitions and supply of required currency, ICC could export its products to 19 countries. The company produces different kinds of products, which so far we could achieve 12 kinds of carbons black. More than 200 domestic producers use these products including, rubber, tire restoration, shoes, cable, car spare parts, tubing, battery making, painting, ink, rubber, etc. industries.
