West Ethylene Pipeline Delivers 770kt of Ethylene in 11 Months
TEHRAN, March 15 — West Ethylene Pipeline has transported 770,000 tons of Ethylene to petrochemical plants on its route since February 2016.
Fed by Kavian Petrochemical Plant (KPP), the pipeline stretched 1,700 kilometers in Iran’s western territories and is planned to feed 12 petrochemical facilities once fully operational.
The facility is developed in two phases. Startup of its first phase was in February 2016 and its second phase is ready for official inauguration.
The plant is now operating at 60% of its nameplate capacity. Each of its phases can supply one million tons of ethylene annually once fully operational.
The ethane recovered from South Pars phases 4, 5, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17 and 18 are fed to KPP.
Once phase 19, 20 and 21 of the supergiant gas field come online, more feedstock will become available to the plant, says KPP’s Managing Director Ramezan Owladi.
