Contributions to Exhibition Industry LA Award for Adsale CEO: Stanley Chu receives Lifetime Achievement Award for contributions to exhibition industry. The award was given by Hong Kong authorities to one of the very clever exhibition managers in SE-Asian region.
Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Industry Association (HKECIA) presented the Lifetime Achievement Award to Mr. Stanley Chu, Chairman of the Adsale Group, to express its deep appreciation for Mr. Chu’s extraordinary services and dedication to the Hong Kong and China exhibition industries over many years.
The award was presented during the 27th Annual Dinner of HKECIA on June 2.

Promoting China trade since 1978
Mr. Chu and his two partners set up the Adsale Group in 1978, the year China adopted the open policy, with an aim to promote China’s trading with the rest of the world.
In 1980, Adsale successfully organized the first International Exhibition on Tools and Machine Tools in Guangzhou, one of the first commercial exhibitions held in China in the new market environment.
In 1983, Adsale’s plastics and rubber technology show — CHINAPLAS made debut in Beijing. The show continued to grow with the industries and is today the biggest fair of its kind in Asia and the second biggest in the world.
CHINAPLAS 2018 will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai, with an estimated 300,000sqm of exhibition space.
Leadership in exhibition
The Adsale Group thrived through the 1990s, and in 2002, Mr. Chu began to serve as the Chairman of the HKECIA. He represented the exhibition sector to communicate with and gain support from the Hong Kong SAR government. He also promoted the exhibition businesses in China and facilitated the industry’s long-term development.
Adsale staged the first International Exhibition on Tools and Machine Tools in Guangzhou in 1980.
In 2003, Mr. Chu was elected as one of the 10 most prominent individuals in China’s exhibition industry. He also received the same recognition in 2005 and 2007.
Mr. Chu was appointed as the first Vice Chairman of UFI Asia Pacific Chapter in 2009, and as the Chairman two years later. He was also appointed as the Honorary Life President of HKECIA in 2010 after serving as the chairman of the association for four consecutive terms.
Truly a pioneer in the exhibition industry, Mr. Chu contributed a lot to building close relationships between HKECIA and counterpart associations, particularly in mainland China, to facilitate exchanges and collaborations.
