The director of the Alborz Plastics Industries Association said 98 percent of our goods are imported.
According to the Plastic Industry Magazine (PIME), quoted from ISNA news agency, yesterday Aug. 12th, Ms. Nahid Hashemi the director of the APIA said at a press conference in the provincial Chamber of Commerce, that: “If the economical fluctuations continue and the government does not support the private sector, then countries like South Korea, China and Saudi Arabia decide for our merchants”. She insisted:
“At present, 98 percent of our goods are imported, which indicates the status of the Iranian producers,”
He added: “Unfortunately, corruption has taken place in the country and no one is accountable for this disastrous situation, and the situation is getting worse every day.”
The trader explained: “Unfortunately, trading in our country means smuggling and brokerage, and those who are working properly and honestly will not go a long way”
In another part of her interview, Hashemi referred to the Chamber of Commerce elections, saying that: They should be more careful in the elections of the Chamber of Commerce and do not allow some anonymous to vote.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Alborz Plastics Industries Association said that the private sector is currently operating hard and in some way is living during the ice age.
She explained that the government should increase its support to the private sector and non-governmental organizations, so that the cycle of the economy can not be stopped.
Ms. Nahid Hashemi is one of the Iranian female industrialists that is very active in the production fields. She has been a converter mostly in the field of the medical parts, and specially those that are very unique and need serious hygienic and proper QC.
She, a German educated engineer and a member of the Iran-German Chamber of Commerce, has also been a very active member of several syndicates including some Tehran province associations.
