While the main purpose of creation of this website (Polymer Industry Media International) was and is publication of the Iranian polymer news for the world and vise versa, however it is a long time (after COVID-19 pandemic) that we haven’t had any news (except scheduled materials tradings on every at the end of weekends) about Iran, and this may be questionable for many readers that are keen to read the truth via an absolutely independent media.
Due to this fact, and after stating the work, the domestic part of the Editorial Team of PIMI (after almost semi- recovery of and still at home) have decided to explain why this has happened?
Many documentaries show that the top Iranian Government officials have been aware of the danger of the Coronavirus since mid-January via two sources:
1- Reports of individual Iranian students which a total 70 of them were studying in Wuhan;
2- Warnings of at least two former Iranian Health Ministers. One (Dr. Marandi– being highly credible for Supreme Leader) even reporting directly to Ayatollah Khamenei.
However, since the founder of Iranian Revolution had given a Fatwa [1] that: “While the expediency of the Islamic Republic dictates, you can even forget about the main orders and principles of Islam”.
This clear order (Fatwa), that is nonbinding, was one of the cases that during the COVID-19 pandemic take into action and on that basis declaration of COVID-19 was delayed till mid February. The reasons were that, from one hand the elections of the Islamic Parliament (Majlis- Shoraye Islamic) was on the go and from the other hand, the celebrities of 41 years of Islamic Republic Revolution’s victory was and is one of the most important events that on any circumstances should be arranged and operated. Each year these celebrations start from the day of arrival of Ayatollah Khomeini (Feb. 1st.) till the day that the Iranian National Television announced the victory of revolution (Feb.11). This 10 days is called: Dahe Fajr which means the 10 days of victory of revolution.
Due to these circumstances the Iranian community was aware of the seriousness of the COVID-19 very late, although the Heath Ministry and the infectious experts were working on the virus and also different plans to overcome the epidemic dangers of the case. When the existence and dangerous characteristics of the virus were announced, the ready plans started to operate. However, and even the Health Ministry was very successful in controlling the epidemic virus, something that the Government had forgotten was the country’s economy.
From this point (about March 22nd) different sectors of the Government started to decide for themselves and without synchronization and harmonic action every sector announced its plans and made the whole community confused. The executive part of the Government, under the control of President Hassan Rouhani, predicted that the problem will overcome very soon and asked the company owners return back to work on April 10th. This decision was changed and a new date was announced: April 14th. But, since the days April 15th and 16th there will be another two days of holidays, the third date was declared: April 17th. However, another part of administration announced a new plan and according to this plan those feel OK can register in a website and take a permission to start the work. Simultaneously the President had a daily meeting with the administration and the outcome of these meetings were different plans in order to one hand prevent the COVID-19 and from the other hand try to prevent the collapse of the economy. The result of these daily decisions was more confusion for the community.
At the same time, the Parliament was closed down due to infection of about 100 MPs some of whom were died. The head of the third country’s sector (The Judiciary) who had received news about some prisoners’ infection by COVID-19 ordered release of thousands of prisoners no matter if they could be a serious threat for the safety of the people. This resulted in a new comment by the President, saying that: “We can’t guarantee the safety control of Tehran and Alborz provinces and so except these two grand cities, other country should oblige our orders for prevention of infection distribution.
Making it short, all of these resulted in a great confusion for the producers and converters. So, at the moment no one know that should work or not. This is the reason that why we don’t have any news at “Polymer Industry Media international’ about Iran till the crisis exist.
