Analysis of this Week’s Materials Deals at IME of Iran: After each material deal at the “IME” we need to have a short analysis of what has happened in order to find the true trend of materials and its real consumption in Iran. The following shows the analysis of the materials’ deals on May the 2nd.
Iran’s Materials Export Market
According to the statistics released by the Iranian Custom Office, during the first Iranian calendar month (March 21- April 20) Iran has recorded 98 million US$ for film grade polymers and 63 million US$ for Injection grades.
Iran’s Materials Domestic Market
On May the 2nd, a total volume of 40.090 tons of PC materials were purchased by brokers and few factory owners who had enough cash in hand. At this day there was only 53.866 tons of supply (materials offered by PC companies for immediate or future delivery) for a demand of more than 82.5k tones.
Due to lack of some grades so there were serious competition over some polymers like; PP for textile industry, GPS and HIPS, grade 3840 of rotational HDPE, grade 209AA of LLDPE and some grades of PVC.
Where the demand for RG1102XL PP of Regal PC Co. which is suitable for textile industry was about 2163 tons, the company had offered a supply of 210 tons (less than 10% of the real demand). Because of this, the finished purchase price ended to 42960 Rials whereas as the base offered price was 39060 Rials.
The same was the case for grade 1102L of textile PP of the Regal Co. by a supply of 210 tons in front of more than 2500 tons of demands. This grade was also sold for 42960 Rials with the same basic price.
The worse competitive situation happened for one textile grade of Jam PC (HP550J) whereas there were only 330 tons of offering supply in front of 4906 tons demand. This was also sold at 42960 Rials.
After two weeks of no supply for diverse GPS and HIPS made by Tabriz PC, supply of these materials were very welcomed by dealers, and there was 1410 tons of demand for a supply of only 600 tons. For this reason the 1540 grade of GPS sold for by an increase of 920 (Rials in comparison to its base price of 51170 Rials). This was also the case for EPS of Tabriz PC and they were dealt with justified competition.
Having a supply of about 1000 tons for a demand of 1520 tons for S65 PVC made by Ghadir PC resulted in 120 Rials price increase with respect to its base price (31300 Rials).
The US$ price in free market for the day was 3760 Rials.
