Now in this regard, the governor of Mahshahr port has announced that the next phase of Mahshahr’s petrochemical area is to create a production zone for downstream industry, and there will be no maternal and upstream industries at this time.
According to the news published at Plastic Industry Magazine, Beiranvand the Governor of Mahshahr port said: “the consultants are conducting studies to establish the second phase of the special petrochemical area, which has set 5 points as the priority for the second phase of the special petrochemical zone, respectively.”
“The first priority is the area next to the current petrochemical zone, which has been rejected according to the new environmental issues. This new environmental directive forces that industries should have a distance of 1500 meters from the cemetery,
Beiranvand said: “As a result, we are now focusing on the domains of the second city in the central part of Mahshahr [on the Mahshahr road to Hendijan].
At the end, he said: “We are fully committed to bring the downstream industry down to Mahshahr, and we hope that next month the exact location of the second phase of the special zone will be clear.” He acknowledged the special area of petrochemicals in the second phase to receive approvals from the Environmental Authorities, Department of Natural Resources and Watershed, and Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Tourism Organization.
It should be noted that the establishment of downstream industrial towns in petrochemical proximity creates many jobs in these areas, and also focuses on the services needed by downstream industries at one point.
Along with all these benefits, one should keep in mind that if a company in the downstream industry has a high product quality and is produced in such areas, freight costs for its export will be reduced and the aggregation of all of these causes to make an industrial unit of the set of these advantages is a fairly good profit.
