EU Polypropylene price raised for the “CIS” countries
May contract price of Propylene in Europe has been coordinated on EUR 15 for ton above, than in April. On this background many European producers declared proportional increase of the May export prices of Polypropylene (PP)(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polypropylene) for the markets of the CIS countries, is reported in the Price review of ICIS-MRC.
Last week transactions of rather May deliveries of a homo-polymer of Propylene were discussed in rather big range of EUR970-1 065 for ton, FCA that on EUR 15 for ton above April price level.

Players of the European market expect that contract prices of the Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terephthalic_acid) for deliveries in May will be prolonged from the level of April because the preliminary prices of a Paraxylene (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P-Xylene) also remained at the level of last month, ICIS reports. The monthly prices of PTA are formed on the formula which is based on the price of the main raw materials – a Paraxylene. The initial price of a paraxylene for deliveries in May has been prolonged since April – EUR750 for ton, FD, NWE (the northwest of Europe).
The April prices of PTA were at the EUR632-662 level for ton and if the initial price of a Paraxylene is confirmed, then in May the quotation of PTA will remain at the same level. Players of the market of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PETE) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyethylene_terephthalate) declared a possible increase in prices for raw materials in May earlier, but the prices of Monoethylene Glycol (MEG) (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethylene_glycol) fell, and quotations of a Paraxylene apparently, will be prolonged.
