No wonder if Iranians will be witnessing female top managers and commanders within President Rouhani’s new roundabout! He is trying to attract the attention of most of the Parliament’s female MPs together with almost all reformists’ votes and also few of hardliners when he goes to receive the Parliament’s approval for his next round of presidency.
His selection, of course by the help and may be advise of the Minister of “Road & Urban Development” (Mr. Hamid Akhoondi), was very clever and on time: This time an Iranian female employee of “Homa“- The National Iranian Airline with his famous blue eagle symbol – took the chair of the commander of the Iranian National Fleet, once upon a time one the most fast developing airline in the world. Whey the news announced and publicized in Iran 2 days later, no one knows?! Though the news couldn’t be more hidden than this!
Mrs. “Farzaneh Sharafbafi” is the most young and the first Iranian female which was chosen as the CEO of the Iran Air or in short “Homa”. She was director of Iran Air’s research department before taking the CEO office. Like another Iranian female proud in mathematics (the late Maryam Mirzakhani– an Iranian mathematician and a professor of mathematics at Stanford University, which her research topics included Teichmüller theory, hyperbolic geometry, ergodic theory, and symplectic geometry) Mrs. Farzaneh Sharbafi was also a Sharif University graduate.
“I hope I will be able to save the face of women in the aviation industry and make them proud,” she said on the sidelines of a formal ceremony held on the occasion of her taking office in Homa headquarters yesterday Sunday July 16th 2017.
Addressing the audience, including a crowd of government officials, Homa managers and reporters, she said Iran Air should “boost capabilities to be able to utilize the existing fleet in the best possible way.”
Among her plans, she referred to “a comprehensive renovation and restructuring of Homa”, including the hierarchical and technical structures as well as the company’s wage payment system; and also improvement of its management regarding quality, safety and security.
PIMI Portal wishes her success all the way up to returning back “Homa” to its 4 decades ago position in the international aviation industry.
