The first phase of Damavand Petrochemical Utility Plant will come on-stream by the end of the calendar year of 1397, starting on March 21 2018, the plant’s CEO says.
Speaking to NIPNA, Hossein Shahryari said now that the project has been ceded to the private sector, and provided that things go as planned, the first phase of the facility will come online by next calendar year.
The project was purchased by a number of companies operating at Phase II of Pars Special Economic Energy Zone in Assalouyeh, southern Iran. Given the companies’ growing need for utilities, construction of the project has gained a considerable impetus.
Phase I of the facility has been financed by IRR 6,000b and will come on-stream by March 2019, Shahryari said.
Once operational the phase will supply 50% of the utilities needed by the plants operating in Assalouyeh’s phase II.
B- Kavian Petchem Facility Eyes 90% Productivity this Year
The managing director of Kavian Petrochemical Plant says his company will be operating at over 90% of its nameplate capacity in the current calendar year which began on March 21 given the increased feedstock supplies it will be catered with by newly-launched phases of the supergiant South Pars Gas Field this year.
Speaking to NIPNA, Ramezan Owladi said the plant has recently launched its second phase which will bring the facility’s output to 2 million tons per year.
“We need sustainable feedstock supply in order to reach our nameplate capacity in both our phases,” he said, expressing optimism that inauguration of new phases of the gas field will ensure new feedstock supplies to the plant.
Kavian Petrochemical Plant injects ethylene to the West Ethylene Pipeline which feeds 12 petrochemical plants along Iran’s western territories.
He forecast his company will be operating at full capacity in 2018 and has started studies for raising its capacity by 10%.
