Germans are Discouraged of after JCOPAs Business Party
In her interviews with few Iranian journalists during “IranPlast 2016“, “Ina Vettkötter” daughter of Joachim Vettkötter (former VDMA Director) who has followed her father’s way at the same association after his retirement, has considered the German’s discouragement regarding their participation at the 10th IranPlast (13-17 April 2016).
“Some German companies are finding it hard to start business with the post-sanctions’ Iran due to their businesses being tied to the US policies in some ways”. She said to some news agencies.
“Ina Vettkötter“ has also said: “I think every European company or better to say, the German companies are trying to find their own way to deal with the present situation, because European companies that hoped to have unbelievable chances of starting business with Iran after removal of international sanctions are being discouraged now, since they often find themselves tied to the still-in-place US powers and primary sanctions”.
Ina, then, points to the Airbus deal with Iran as an apparent example and says: ” last week the Airbus CEO (Fabrice Brégier) said that despite a deal to sell our planes to Iran, our company had no chance to defy the US sanctions because we use US-made parts in our planes and spare parts” .
However, he confirms that: “Many foreign delegations, largely from Europe, have been visiting Iran to make deals with their counterparts and/or their possible future partners here” and says:
“Partnership with Iranians enjoys a long tradition. Our companies are quite satisfied with the event here and they had a lot of discussions with Iranian sides who are interested in starting cooperation”
She also says: “We should bring together the official sides as well in order to create more opportunities. It’s not much about buying a machine as starting a long-term partnership.”
