IMT Minister in a Letter Iran vows to boost resistance economy
“IMT” Minister Mohammad-Reza Nematzadeh in a letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader emphasized that the removal of the sanctions have created no change in plans to strengthen domestic industries and enhance their technical capabilities.
Nematzadeh added that his Ministry will continue to consider the guidelines put forward by Ayatollah Khamenei to move toward the establishment of the resistance economy.
He also said that serious plans have been drawn on the same front which he said will have the creation of jobs and the expansion of non-oil exports as the central themes.
The nuclear-related economic sanctions against Iran were lifted in mid-JanuaSupremry after a landmark deal that the country had sealed with the P5+1 – the five permanent members of the Security Council plus Germany – was officially implemented.
With the sanctions now lifted, the country will be able to attract foreign investments in various sectors of its economy particularly the oil, the auto and the aviation industries.
Ayatollah Khamenei in several occasions has emphasized that the sanctions period should be a lesson for the officials to struggle and make the country independent from outside help. To the same effect, he ordered the government of President Hassan Rouhani through an official decree in February 2014 to pursue what he described as ‘the resistance economy’.
