In April PVC will rise in price for USD29-58 for ton
Last week negotiations of rather April price level of the Russian Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) have begun. The Russian producers declared the predicted price increase to USD58 for ton, is reported in the Price review of ICIS-MRC. Whereas North American suppliers of PVC have declared growth of the export prices of USD100 for ton in comparison with the prices of March.
In Russia producers have declared intention to achieve further increase in prices for USD29-58 for ton in comparison with March level. Processors are forced to accept the next price increase due to the lack of alternative. An unplanned stop of production of PVC at capacities of “Sayanskkhimplast” and dynamic increase in prices in domestic market has forced the Russian companies to contract actively for pitch in foreign markets. In March contracts for supply of polymer from China and the USA were actively concluded. However, because of long logistics, the first deliveries will be only to the middle of April.
At the same time increase in prices of PVC in the USA is explained by several factors. First, in the last several weeks demand for pitch from the markets of India and China has significantly grown. The second factor putting pressure upon the prices are planned stops on prevention of producers from the USA and Europe which have limited the offer of polymer in the market.
