Interpack and Other Messe Dusseldorf Exhibitions and PIMI Policy: Though for the first time in Iran, “Interpack”, one of the world’s largest packaging exhibition was introduced by Plastics Industry Magazine (PIM) during 80’s (like the “K” show) but according to the policies of the polymer publications founder, we gradually left publishing of the news of other industries (as it was a lot in 80;s for PIM) sector by sector to more specialized media. Packaging is one of these sectors. In this regard and due to wealthy websites of the Messe-Dusseldorf for each exhibition that they run, we don’t go inside the details of many exhibitions, except the “K” show only.
This policy means that, for each event in Dusseldorf, we will pay our attention to those sub events of the exhibitions that are more related to the interests of our viewers and readers. Also, we will pick up and re-publish the news of those sub-events which could easily be part or parts of the future “direct or indirect” activities and/or events that PIMI Portal is or will supporting it.
“Interpack” which kicked-off yesterday (May 4th) at Dusseldorf is now a good practice and practical example for us. The exhibition covering about 180.000 sqm of exhibition halls and open area, hosted more than 3000 exhibitors from about 60 countries in the world. Like previous editions, Germany beat the other European countries by participation of 732 exhibitors which was almost 60% more than its nearest rival from Italy (451 exhibitors). Such a competition between EU countries in packaging idusyry is not as amazing as what one can see from what’s happening at our own region, where, a country like Turkey which akmost 30 years ago had nothing to show to the Iranians is now warming his hands from better dyas in near future in comparison by Iran. Turkey had participated at this event by 191 exhibitors (64 time more than Iranians) whereas Iran had only 3 not so famous participants scattered in 3 halls:
1- Khandabi Machinery Co.: A factory in Alborz province and manufacturer of candy cooking machinery and its finishing lines located in Hall 1 stand A03′
2- Omidi Industrial Machinery FZCO : Located in Hall 2 stand D05-2 of the exhibition, the company is a local factory in the north of Iran and in a city (Lahijan) near the costs of the Caspian see. The company is also a manufacturer of cooking and packaging of a special local candy from the north of Iran;
3- PolFilm LLC : Is the 3rd Iranian exhibitor and as the company claims in its promotional materials, PolFilm is the first and largest leading manufacturer of BOPP films in Iran. While maintaining the best “product quality” for its customers has always been the TOP priority in its strategies, Polfilm has also kept a sustainable growth in its production capacity since the beginning. Starting with an annual capacity of 4000 MT in 1993, its capacity has now reached to 66000 MT per annum. The company exhibits its products at Hall 7 stand A02.
