Iran 9-Month Petrochemical Output up 8% Y/Y
TEHRAN, Jan. 18 — Iranian petrochemical plants supplied 40 million tons of petrochemical products in the first 9 months of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 20, up 8% year-on-year, petrochemical official said.
Ali Mohammad Bossaqzadeh, director of production control at National Petrochemical Company (NPC), said nearly 40 million tons of petrochemical products were produced by petrochemical facilities across the country during the 9 months, adding supply of domestic markets is the first priority of petrochemical plants in Iran.
He said the plants has sold over 12.5 mt of petrochemicals on the domestic markets, up 17% from the same period last year.
Bossaqzadeh also said that export of petrochemical products also rose by 8% in the period, adding that Iranian petrochemical companies exported 16 million tons.
