Iraq is rebuilding its own domestic industry, while at the same time has a half-look at exports, especially to Arab countries in the South of the Persian Gulf. Branding and success in sales and exports without good packaging, both in design and in terms of material quality is not possible. In this regard, Iran, given its potential in various sectors of printing and packaging industries, can act as the largest Iraqi industry partner in this field.
According to the Plastics Industry Magazine, the Iranian business adviser in Iraq in a visit to the specialized exhibition and printing press center of Iran’s permanent trade and marketing center in Iraq said: “The capabilities presented at the exhibition reflect the high capacity of Iranian companies to provide equipment and technical services in cooperation with Iraqi companies.”
Naser Behzad, after the meeting, said in a statement to the media: “Iraq’s economic development pattern is moving towards improving the production and growth of domestic industry. Therefore, in this event, the introduction of systems for the installation and implementation of industrial automation in the printing sector and in particular the packaging industry is followed.”
He emphasized: “the trade of printing instruments and printing services and the technical and engineering services related to packaging design as an over-the-counter can stimulate Iranian exports to Iraq”.
Iranian business adviser in Iraq said: “Marketing for laser cutting machines, fiber-optic devices capable of working on metals and non-metals, 3D advertising machines for metals, rubber and plastics, digital printing machines, banner printers, fast printing and moving toward holding printing is one of the priorities of the Iraqi market demand.
Behzad referred to the potential of these industries in Iran and added: “An appropriate custodian of private sector organizations to design how to use their potentials in Iraq could turn Iran into a majour actor in the packaging and printing machinery business in this market”.
He demanded that the Iraqi market of cartons annually should be over 900 thousand tons and added that printing on nylon and cellophane with the participation of Iraqi companies to increase the business interactions of the two countries in the first step will lead to the proximity of productive partnerships to strengthen mutual relations.
In completing Behzad’s words, of Iran’s participation in the Iraqi packaging industry can be said that our country has a very good potential in the raw materials sector of the flexible plastic packaging industry, due to the geographical proximity and the cost of transit of raw materials, In this regard, it can also search for a large market in Iraq for the Iranian industry.
