Thanks to Barakat Foundation’s outstanding partnership, Iran joined the leading 20 countries manufacturing EPP

Having evaluated the EPP (expanded polypropylene) production reanimation scheme,  itentered into a 49% investment partnership  (Rials 9,000,000,000) in the same, setting the wheels of Caspian Polymer Sepahan Company in motion and prompting Iran to one of the world leaders in terms of production of this commodity,  reported IRIB.

According to Mr. Ahmad Mokhtar, Managing Director, Caspian Polymer Sepahan Company, his company is currently producing  500 tons of EPP, enjoying the remarkable edge of being produced with a cost price of one third of the imported commodity, thereby practically  reducing our country’s imports in this regard to nil.

“Caspian Polymer Sepahan Company started operating in 2005  with the objective to meeting the domestic needs to special-grade polymers and compressed foam components used in automotive, aviation, radio communications, building construction and packaging industries deriving benefit from the state-of-the art machinery, it was however reduced to stagnation due to economic sanctions imposed”, he added.

“As a matter of fact, the sole EPP production line in Iran owned by Iran Khodro Company came to a halt due to the said sanctions, as a result of which we are currently manufacturing EPP components needed by the same company as well”.

“We have up until now concluded seven contracts with Saipa Company, one of which has already become operational”, he added.

Commenting on his company’s capability to satisfy the domestic needs in compressed foam components, he stressed:  “With the blessing of our Company’s partnership with Barakat Foundation, we are now in a position to manufacture thousand components per day with an annual output of about 100 tons per year of the components made of special-grade polymers and compressed foam”.

Capitalizing on his company’s outstanding capability, he said: “Our Company will unveil, this October, its new achievement, an EPP box with insignificant  weight and very high  strength  which keeps cool its contents for more than 12 hours at a go”.

It is worth mentioning  Barakat Foundation is affiliated to Headquarter  for Execution of Imam Khomeini’s  Order and has  so far participated in 265 economic potentialization projects  in31 provinces of Iran with a total investment volume of Rials 47,000,400,000,000, providing job opportunities for 165,775 people, directly or indirectly.
