Iranian PVC Producers Demonstrate against Raw Material Outage: Over 100 managers of PVC production units in Iran gathered at the Ministry of Industry’s main building on Wednesday, protesting against a lack of supply of raw material.
The demonstrators held placards reading “Protest of downstream petrochemical producers over lack of raw material supply by petrochemical companies and the Mercantile Exchange” or “Putting turns and twists in resistance economy by disrupting supply to PVC companies”.
A group of the protestors sat for urgent talks with M.R. Nematzadeh the Minister of ITM or one of the officials, after which they were promised a meeting in a couple of days with either of the ministers of oil or industry, or their deputies, INPIA reported.
However, to keep the demonstrators calm the Ministry’s office accepted to negotiate with a couple of demonstrators’ representatives. After the decision made, Mr. M. H. Kharrazi, the managing director of the PVC Cooperative was accepted by the Minister’s Office and as a result the head of the Minister’s Office promised for an urgent meeting within the next couple of days.
