Sun Chemical to Present PPS Product Innovations at the 2019 ITB Electrified Vehicle Thermal Management and Engine Air/Cooling Systems Conference.
PARSIPPANY, N.J., U.S.A. – June 10, 2019 – Sun Chemical experts will speak about the latest developments in polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) for auto system components in electric and hybrid vehicles during the 2019 ITB Electrified Vehicle Thermal Management and Engine Air/Cooling Systems Conference held on June 13-14 in Novi, Mich.
Robert Gresslinger, Global Business Director of Engineering Plastics at Sun Chemical Advanced Materials, will highlight how PPS innovations can be used for powertrain and passenger comfort advancements in electric and hybrid vehicles. His presentation, “Use of DIC.PPS in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Thermal Management Systems” will be delivered on Thursday, June 13th at noon.
On June 14th at 10:10 a.m., Furkan Akdemir, a business development manager of PPS at Sun Chemical, will speak about the performance of PPS for the latest innovations in engine air induction systems and components, e-boosting, and engine cooling, during a presentation entitled “Performance of DIC.PPS for Thermal Management Modules (TMMs) in Engine Cooling Systems.”
Sun Chemical’s PPS product line is an engineering compound formulated with both glass fiber and/or mineral filler and features the characteristics of a typical engineering thermoplastic. It is a partially crystalline, high temperature performance polymer with excellent chemical resistance that is inherently flame retardant. It also exhibits superior elevated temperature resistance, advanced mechanical properties and excellent dimensional stability designed to meet demanding tight tolerance applications.
Through the innovative technologies for compounding and polymerization, PPS from Sun Chemical Advanced Materials realizes superior characteristics as an engineering plastic and is utilized for various applications such as alternatives to metals and thermoset plastics in automotive, electrical and electronic, and industrial markets. The PPS product portfolio contains a wide variety of engineered products that can be custom formulated to meet the most demanding performance requirements.
