According to the CEO of the company; Iran’s “Arya Sasol” Petrochemical Plant has acquired the technical know-how for mass production of MD3717 polyethylene with comercial number of 3717. The license issued after its the main licensor left Iran due to the US-led sanctions.
The catalysts are produced only in two other petrochemical units across the globe, he said, adding following imposition of the sanctions, the company initiated efforts to produce the catalyst by relying on domestic capabilities.
Arya Sasol has initiated cooperation with a number of European companies including Germany’s Linde Group for production of new catalysts and petrochemicals in 2018.
“Talks are under way for construction of a heavy density polyethylene pilot plant at Arya Sasol Complex, as well,” he said.
Arya Sasol supplied 1.6 million tons of products last calendar year which ended on March 20.
The company has also exhibited 108% productivity over the course of the first 5 months of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 21.
The plant also plans to the 2.1mt/y production in the current year, the official added.
Aryasasol Polymer Company (ASPC), which is the producer of ethylene, polyethylene and other polymer products, is located in the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone (PSEEZ) in the Iranian port city of Assalouyeh, the southwestern Bushehr Province. Established in 2002, the petrochemical complex includes various unites of ethane cracker (olefins), medium- and high-density polyethylene (MD/HDPE) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE), as well as storage and off-site services units. ASPC enjoying the largest gas olefins unit of Assaluyeh is one of the best petrochemical complexes in the country’s petroleum industry.
