During last week (Feb. 17th-23rd- the Iranian days of market opening) the IME hall registered the following long list of supplies, demands, trading volumes. The result was depressing as the market faced with the very modest trading at the 11 month of the Iranian calendar, normally very good for businesses by converting units.

The market, even after controlling the foreign exchange market by the government and reducing the selling currency prices in lower exchange values, was slowing down strongly on the daily basis, as undoubtedly at the current week, the polymers should experience more than 2 percent lower rates.

Last week, a total of 10 grades traded at a price competition, while during the former week more than 25 grades traded at higher competitive prices!

The volume of supplies were increased significantly compared to former week and hit about 10.000 tons for most commodities, including for some competitive materials like; Textile PP, HDPE and PET bottle grades. Also some polymers like HDPE Film, PVC, HDPE Blowing grades have been faced with dropping supplies.

A drop of 50% in trading volumes and significant drop in demands were the topics of last week’s Iranian polymer market.
