INEOS COMPOUNDS: Licence agreement with wood substitute specialist Resysta / Exclusive production and marketing partnership builds on three-year cooperation
Ineos Compounds, the PVC compounding business of Ineos (Rolle / Switzerland; www.ineos.com), has entered into a licence agreement with wood substitute specialist Resysta International (Taufkirchen / Germany; www.resysta.de) under which the petrochemicals giant will acquire the rights to the exclusive production and marketing of active “Resysta” filler (ARF) in Europe.
ARF is the raw material for the production of the Resysta PVC compound, which is used in a wide range of wood replacement applications. The Resysta ARF will be manufactured initially at the Ineos Compounds site in Sins / Switzerland.
Jonathan Stewart, Ineos Compounds COO, said, The selection of Ineos Compounds by Resysta to be their partner of choice for the production and marketing of ARF in Europe is another milestone in the ongoing strategic partnership between the two companies. We are looking forward to working with Resysta to develop this fast growing sector by having a real alternative to tropical wood.
Bernd Duna, Resysta International CEO, said, We are currently licensing our technology across the world, and have found in Ineos the perfect partner for Europe. By manufacturing the Resysta compound locally, the products become even more environmentally friendly and more easily available.
Ineos first mooted the potential for this agreement and began a cooperation with Resysta early in 2013 (see Plasteurope.com of 15.01.2013).
