Natural Polymers to Use in New Spray Foam Formulations (Opteon 1100)
The Chemours Company announced that Natural Polymers LLC in West Chicago, IL, USA, has chosen Opteon 1100 foam blowing agent for use in its new line of low global warming potential (GWP) spray foam insulation solutions.
According to Chemours, Opteon 1100 will enable Natural Polymers to develop formulations with superior insulation improvement as well as lower environmental impact. The product meets the company’s need for a non-flammable, low GWP blowing agent for use in polyurethane foams. Opteon 1100’s thermal conductivity and spray-ability help Natural Polymers improve the performance of its foam insulation, while it’s low GWP enables the company to support its customers in helping meet the upcoming regulatory driven conversions across North America, says Chemours. In addition, the chemical structure of Opteon 1100 is said to provide outstanding stability and versatility, thus maximising the range of customer formulations, especially in challenging weather conditions as seen by Natural Polymers in its Midwest market.
