TEHRAN, Dec. 19 (Shana) – Noori Petrochemical Plant has been revered at the 5th R&D Festival for its activities in the field.
The event was held on Monday at Tehran’s permanent fairgrounds by the Education, Research and Technology Department of the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Commerce.
The R&D unit of the plant was officially inaugurated in 2011 with the aim of conducting research projects for promoting the facility’s operations.
Sweetening sour gases, indigenizing and industrial manufacture of 2 key catalysts for production of aromatics and elimination of olefins, and revising the flare of the gasoline pyrolysis hydrogenation unit of the facility, which led to 18% reduction in its fuel consumption, are some of the R&D department’s achievements.

Ministry of Industry, Mine and Commerce at a Glance
At present, the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade is in charge of industries, mines and trade sector in Iran, which is divided into three main sections in terms of organizational structure: the staff, affiliated organizations, and provincial organizations that are stationed in 31 provinces of the country.
Steering of all three industry, mine, and trade sectors across the country is among the main responsibilities assigned to the staff, affiliated organizations and provincial organizations.
The staff section is mostly responsible for policymaking, logistics, operational planning, supervision, monitoring of situation, and addressing large-scale issues of all three sectors of mine, industry and trade.
Affiliated organizations are also responsible for the development and implementation of sovereign policies and plans within their purview, and these measures are taken in cooperation with the private sector or independently by these organizations, which include: Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (IDRO), in the field of industries; Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), in the field of mines; Trade Promotion Organization of Iran, in the field of exports and imports of the country, are responsible for the implementation of policies set by the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade. Provincial organizations also establish close relations with industrial, mining and trade units and implement determined plans and policies at provincial level.
As for the share of the country’s production and commerce from the Iranian economy, it is noteworthy that the country’s industry, mine and trade sector makes up about 40 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP), and 32 percent of the country’s employment.
In the light of the diversity of its mission, the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade issues permits for businesses operating in the fields of industry, mine and trade. Some of them are as follows:
- Industrial establishment permit (to start industrial activities)
- Industrial operation license (operation of industrial activities)
- Prospecting certificate and license (to start mine prospecting)
- Mining operation license (operation of mining activity)
- Business license (to start a business)
- Business card (to start commercial activities)
- Order registration (to start import activity)
