NPC Recent News Show Bright Future for Iranian Petrochemicals

NPC Recent News Show Bright Future for Iranian PetrochemicalsNew Government administrative of President Rouhani has approved great backups for expansion of Iranian petrochemicals. The results of such backups could be seen at several news coming out of “NPC” and the Iranian Oil Ministry showing strong activities for foreign financials and cooperation.

One news reveals that Iran is developing plans to produce 13 new petrochemical products to be sold on domestic and international markets, and National Petrochemical Company (NPC) is to support these productions till the end of the 6th five-year development plan to 2022.

To this effect, NPC is trying for importation of the required technical know-how and licenses from across the globe for production of the items. The company has also initiated talks with international leaders in the sector in order to materialize its goals by 2022.

NPC is currently in talks with several majour international energy and chemical leaders including Total, Technip, Air Liquide, BASF, Linde Group, Mitsui and Sojitz, Haldor Topsoe, etc.

Iranian Oil Minister -Bijan Zangeneh- has also voiced his ministry’s support for expanding the industry. Completion of propane and butane production chains is one of NPC’s key strategies for diversifying petrochemical output of the country.

According to the other news;

Managing Director of Ilam Petrochemical Plant Farhad Daneshi said Ilam Petrochemical company’s polyolefin production capacity will reach  to 200,000 tons/year once its launches a sulfur recovery unit by March 2018.

Daneshi said the facility is banking on inauguration of its sulfur recovery unit (SRU) by the end of the current calendar year to March 20. The facility is now building two units which are olefin and SRU while the latter is one of the preliminary units in production chain of polyolefin and plays a key role in feedstock supply for olefin production.

He said the project has made 78% physical progress and most of the machinery and equipment needed for completion of the unit has been installed or supplied. Daneshi further said the project has generated jobs for 3,000 for the western Ilam Province locals.

The plant has so far supplied 520,000 tons of polyolefin and is expected to supply 200,000 tons of the product next year.
