Petrochemical Fires Are Now Suspicious Events: Almost less than 2 fires per month is the record of the HSE departments of the Iranian petrochemical companies. The events that raise questions about the reasons of these series of fires.
NIPNA, the official news website of the National Iranian Petrochemical Company, writes about the latest fire which broke out in Bandar Imam Petrochemical company as follow:
Fire in the BDSR section of Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company has been successfully put out, said Managing Director of National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Marzieh Shahdaie.
“Thanks God and efforts of all fire fighters and the management in charge, the BDSR fire was controlled and put out,” she said.
She said the reasons of the fire will be announced in the first possible time and the scale of damage will be estimated.
Meanwhile, Managing Director of Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company Reza Amiri said on Saturday that a panel has begun investigation of cause(s) of fire in Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company’s BDSR depot. The depot contained 4,000 tons of stored products.
A fire took over the BDSR unit of the facility but did not disrupt its activities and left no fatalities.
Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company is a petrochemical facility in Mahshahr PETZONE. It is a supplier of ethane, butane, propane, ethylene, pentane, gasoline pyrolysis, crude residue, xyelens, rafinite, heavy aromatics and Paraxylene (PX).
It is the first major producer of petrochemical products in Iran for its high production capacity and owns three subsidiary companies, namely Bandar Imam Processing Company, Kimia and Besparan.
