Plant Exports 430,000t of MEG to China, India in 14 Months
TEHRAN, March 15 — Morvarid Petrochemical Plant has exported 430,000 tons of monoethylene glycol (MEG) to its customers in China and India over the course of the past 14 months.
The exports have fetched the company some $300m, head of the complex Hamidreza Etekhar told reporters on Monday.
The MEG unit of the plant can supply half a million tons of the item as well as 50,000 tons of diethylene glycol (DEG) and 3,400 tons of triethylene glycol (TEG) annually.
Since its inauguration in January 2016, the plant has supplied 450,000 tons of MEG of which 430,000 tons has been exported and the rest has been sold on the domestic market.
The complex is operating at 90% of its nameplate capacity.

The Plant’s Production Capacity Is 500,000 t/y Of Ethylene Which Shall Be Injected Into The West Ethylene Pipe Line.
The Main Aim Of The Project Is To Generate Job Opportunities As Well As Know-How Transfer, Increase And Use Of Productivity From The National Capabilities, Economical Advantage, Hard Currency Earnings And Finally , Supplying The Feed For The West Ethylene Pipe-Line.
