“Plast Eurasia İstanbul 2017” which is organized by Tüyap in cooperation with PAGEV – Turkish Plastics Industry Foundation, opened on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. The four-day event, which runs till Dec. 9th 2017, has been taking place at the Tüyap Fair Convention and Congress Center in Istanbul and is considered the most significant and extensive meeting of the plastics industry in Turkey and Eurasia.
Plast Eurasia İstanbul 2017 brings together the industry’s leading professionals and 1083 companies and company representatives from 43 countries. A total of 50,000 industry professionals are expected to visit the fair. Plast Eurasia İstanbul which creates new market alternatives to the industry every passing year by extending its marketing network hosts procurement committees invited by Tüyap from 31 countries including Algeria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Benin, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Egypt, Georgia, Greece, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Macedonia, Moldova, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovenia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan.
Within the scope of the fair, the latest technologies and innovations about plastics machinery, chemicals, raw materials, machinery auxiliary industry, heat and control equipment, mould, hydraulic and pneumatic, recycling are showcased for visitors. The exhibitors introduce their companies cost-effectively in the best efficient way in the global supply and supply chain.
Expected to make a major contribution to the aims of the sector, Plast Eurasia İstanbul 2017 is available to visiting between December 6 – 8 from 10:00 – 19:00 and from 10:00 – 18:00 on 9th of December.
Iranians at the show:
Though it seems that at this year’s of the exhibition the welcoming of the Iranian exhibitors and visitors shrunk considerably, but a total number of 8 companies have been registered at the exhibitors list of the exhibition, two of it media stands on the barter basis and one stand for the Tehran’s Association of plastics industry at the same account. The others are all the petrochemical plants that are presented to sell materials which are now once again under the shadow of further sanctions.

According to the Eurasia Istanbul 2016 post show report (the left image) out of 5116 foreign visitors only 22% have been from middle east which confirms PIMI record of about 120 Iranian visitors to the show. This number has been shrunk t0 abouy 50-60 for this year. Also, apart from petrochemical companies which are usually presented at many exhibitions only for the promotive mission sallaries of the participant staffs, at this year of Eurasia Istanbul none of the private Iranian companies were among exhibiting companies.
