Yesterday, on Sunday April 29th the PDID office of NPC announced the new prices for the polymers that have limited supply and higher competition. Though, some new base prices were shrunk some of it were increase but both slightly!, and so the new prices showed almost a stable trend.
According to the following table, the highest price increases recorded for SBR 1520 and 1712 , with an increase of 3.20 and 3.4%, respectively in comparison with their previous week’s prices (Click Here). Also PET bottle grades increased by 2.2% which followed the incremental trend.
The highest price drop was also attributed to PVC, with all grades of this product declining by 1.84%. These decreases in PVC prices made a balance both at domestic and international markets.
Stabilizing the exchange rate of the US$ value at the last two weeks in Iran which is one of the main price definition formula variables, so any global change in the exchange rate of US$ value will have a decisive in domestic markets.
Given the fact that the price of the oil has been rising for a few weeks and is driving the process vigorously, this price increase will surely affect the global price of petrochemical products and the price of raw materials.
Meanwhile, the supply and demand in the markets are among other crucial factors in the price of petrochemical products, meaning that when the supply and demand are in a balanced situation, the price of polymer products does not change much in domestic or in the stock markets, and so the deals are conducted in a safer and relaxed environment.
The table shows the price differences between the weeks April 22nd-29th 2018
