As far as the polymer market in Iran is concerened two days of the week are the sweet days for market manipulators and those who “buy cheap to sell higher”; Sturdays and Thursdays.
Sturdays are sweet days because it is the day before PDID Office interference with the market for base price definitions, and so if the convereters feel that there will be the possibility of any price increase then they try to purchase from the free market as far as they can. The other day, Thursday is also sweet because Tehran Stock Exchange is either closed or has nothing to offer in the petrochemical sector.
The reason for small fluctuation for today’s free market prices is that there has been no deals at IME and the weekend.
