Last week the trading volume of polymers increased by 16.67% and the total volume reached to 91,000 tons. This figure is the highest ever recorded trading volume for polymers at the history of the Iran Stock Exchange. It is a historical record that its effect will gradually be seen at the Iranian polymer market.
Meanwhile the supply volume increased by 11.6% and the demand increased by 38%. This amount by itself is an important figure, though, due to the end of the Iranian year’s incremental consumer market the stakes of purchases have been increased by the IMT Ministry. The volume of physical supplies at IME also has reached to 95,670 tones. This figure in comparison with the same at the last year shows that the potential for supplies exists yet.
Although, such incremental supply which resulted in trading volume increase, didn’t affect the market critical situation and the competition for purchasing more attractive grades was higher than previous weeks.
As an example last year at this period (last week of February) the recorded supply was 189,000 tones, but this year this record in 181,000 tones. This is at the condition that this year that the market is faced with higher demands, it needs more supply than what has been announced.
