Savings In Fuel Behind Nano-Filters Made In Iran

Last year more than 100,000 nano filters produced by an Iranian company were used in domestic vehicles. According to the CEO of this company, if the full capacity of the company’s production line will enter the market, 100 million liters in fuel consumption and 10 trillion Rials will be saved in the air pollution control.
According to PIMI reporters, the company, known as the “Faranegar Shargh” as one of the largest manufacturers of industrial filters for light cars, has been able to produce filters that contain nano-particles and PAN polymer fibres.
Application of polymer fibers in filters
In the new filters made by this company, a thin layer of polymeric fibers is placed on the filter paper to increase significantly the filtration ability. Due to the presence of nano-fibres, particles in the air even on the nano-meter scale are caught in the filter and the amount of contamination is minimized.
“Due to the use of nanotechnology, the new nano-crystalline filters, have a higher filtration efficiency than conventional filters, so they can help to reduce air pollution by up to 20%,” said “Shahpour Piroozi” the CEO of the company on the advantages of these filters. He added: “These filters also have the ability to reduce fuel consumption and can reduce fuel consumption by 5 to 15%. As a result, the use of nano-filters can reduce emissions and fuel consumption for consumers.
He also claimed: “If only 25% of domestic vehicles are equipped with these new filters, they will save 100 million liters of fuel and also 100,000 billion Rials will be saved in the air pollution control unit within a year.
The production capacity of the Farnegar Shargh is to produce 25% of the total demand of the domestic vehicles per year, and in other words, it will take four years for the company to produce air filters with nano-polymeric fibers for all cars in the country.
According to Shahpour Piroozi, exportation is the main goal of the company. He also explains that: ” At the moment we have achieved to our own know-how and production technology of combination of some nano particles with some nano fibres for production of these filters and this will highly increase the quality of these products.
