The Russian PVC Rose in Price in February
The following analysis has been prepared by PIMI Russian Correspondent:
Weakening of rate of the national currency of Russia (Ruble) put pressure upon the prices of Suspension Polyvinyl Chloride (PVС-S) in Russia. As it is reported in the Price review of ICIS-MRC, price increase in comparison with January made more than 2 000 RUR for ton (26 USD).
Demand for pitch in the market very low, loading of most of processors doesn’t exceed 50% because of almost total absence of demand for finished products from Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). And, despite the low level of loading of capacities of Sayanskkhimplast (Sayanskkhimplast), the offer of pitch in the market the superfluous.
Growth of volumes of own production of raw materials in the conditions of reduction of demand in domestic market forced the Russian producers last year to go for significant increase in volumes of export of PVC. For all last year on foreign markets more than 46 thousand tons of pitch were put. Nevertheless, growth of volumes of export didn’t allow to balance domestic market yet.
Bargains on January deliveries of PVC-S were concluded in the range of 60 000-64 000 RUR for ton (780-830 USD). February bargains are concluded in the range of 62 500-67 000 RUR for ton (812-870 USD).
