SYMPHONY: Pakistan International Airways agrees to use “d2w technology in its plastic packaging / Business Dynamics signs deal to introduce oxo-biodegradable bags
Additive supplier Symphony Environmental Technologies (Borehamwood / UK; www.symphonyplastics.com) through its distributor in Pakistan, Business Dynamics (Lahore; www.businessdynamics.com.pk), has entered a three-year agreement with Pakistan International Airways (PIA) for conversion of the airline’s normal plastic packaging into “d2w biodegradable plastic.
PIA is the first airline to convert all of its flexible plastics to “d2w oxo-biodegradable technology and can now be certified as a green company in Pakistan by the country’s Environmental Protection Agency as a zero pollution airline. In 2013, the country’s national assembly passed a resolution to ban conventional plastic shopping bags – see Plasteurope.com of 07.02.2013.
