Bandar Imam PC Plant shuttered to Save Environment:The plants closed the unit to stop emission of mercury by the plant.
A project was devised in the plant to change the chloralkali process and eliminate mercury in three phases.
In the first phase, precise tools equipped with the latest FCS-DCS technologies and was launched in the beginning of the current calendar year which began on March 20.
The second phase of the project was aimed at supplying electrolyzers of the membrane systems and provision of basic engineering documents. This phase was completed by technologies support of Germany’s thyssenkrupp.
Furthermore, the third phase of the project is 55% complete and eletrolyzers that are to replace mercury cells in the unit are being delivered to the plant in the near future.
