According to a certified news published by “SHANA” Feedstock injection to West Ethylene Pipeline has been resumed.
The feedstock was re-flown to targets once repairing and overhauling task on the damaged part completed.The pipeline is located west of the city of Poldokhtar in Lorestan Province. It suffered leakage on mountain rock falls and caught fire as a result. It was contained after several hours. No toll was reported and the repair operations started shortly after the incident.
About the “West PE Line”:
Completion of the second phase of West Ethylene Pipeline is a priority of National Petrochemical Company (NPC), a deputy head of NPC said.
He said the pipeline is expected to be completed by March 2015 and would then be ready to receive feedstock for transfer to petrochemical plants.
“Completion of this pipeline at the same time as the operation of new phases of South Pars [gas field] will feed new plants, and the result will be diversity in the production of petrochemical plants in the west of the country,” said Peyvandi.
The entire pipeline stretches from Assaluyeh in southern Iran to West Azarbaijan Province in northwestern Iran.
The pipeline is known to be the longest ethylene transfer pipeline in the world.
