AURORA PLASTICS: PVC compounder acquired by Wind Point Partners / New management includes veterans from Citadel and Argotec
PVC compounds producer Aurora Plastics (Streetsboro, Ohio / USA; www.auroraplastics.com) has been acquired by private equity group Wind Point Partners (Chicago, Illinois / USA; www.windpointpartners.com). Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. Founded in 1997, Aurora Plastics specialises in the production of customised rigid PVC compounds for extrusion and injection moulding. Its customer base is located throughout North America, and catered to from two production facilities, situated at group headquarters and in Welcome, North Carolina / USA.
Industry veteran and Wind Point advisor Mike Fitzpatrick will become the chairman of Aurora’s holding company. He previously served as chairman and CEO of thermoset compounds producer Citadel Plastics Holdings – which was part of Wind Point’s portfolio until 2012 (see Plasteurope.com of 20.03.2012) and was recently acquired by A. Schulman (for most recent coverage, see Plasteurope.com of 01.07.2016). Fellow industry veteran and Wind Point partner Guy Broadbent will also be on Aurora’s board. Broadbent most recently served as CEO of TPU film manufacturer Argotec, which Wind Point sold to Schweitzer-Mauduit (see Plasteurope.com of 16.10.2015).
