Iranian Plastics Industries and a Great Campaign for the Nature Day: The 13th day of the Iranian new year, not only is the end of long holidays but historically also it is the “Nature Day” in Iran. To support the nature an Iranian film and bag making company has raised a campaign and has donated  250.000 garbage bags to be distributed free of charge in some area.

“13 Bedar” is the Farsi spelling name of this day which sounds something like the “April Fool” in west. This day traditionaly is the “Nature Day” as well and usually most Iranian families get together to the green lands and enjoy a day in the nature with together. This, however, produces a lot of garbage, food wastes and other rubish. Unfortunately some people leave their garbages around and don’t think who will or should collect it?

This year a campaign established by a film and bag making factory in order to change the garbage culture of some people. The owner offered donation of 250.000 garbage bags and invited people in a telegram group by a # to support the campaign. Very soon several plastics associations and media (including Plastics Industry Magazine) joined the campaign and started to promote it in three ways: A) Those who are ready to donate more free garbage bags; B) Those who wish to support and to promote the campaign; C) Those who are ready to distribute these bags to the people who want to enjoy the nature.

Two days before the “Nature Day” in Iran, it seems that the campagin has been more successful than expected, because there have been a lot who have supported this campaign and have declared are ready to distribute the garbage bags at the resorts and green lands. The “13 Bedar” or the “Mature Day” starts in the morning of April the 2nd.
