NPC Director Requests from President of Iran and other Petrochemical News: During the last days of Ramadan, Ms. Marzieh Shahdaei, the NPD Director and deputy to the Petroleum Minister, defended downstream industries by asking supports of President Rouhani to the down stream industries. 1- CEO Voices NPC Support for Domestic Manufacturers
Managing Director of National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Marziyeh Shahdaei voiced the support of Rouhani administration and the Iranian Ministry of Petroleum for domestic manufacturers, calling on them to market their products in international arenas.
Marziyeh Shahdaei, who is also deputy petroleum minister for petrochemical affairs, said besides investment, technology transfer and arrival of state-of-the-art technologies to the country would be positive for the sector.
“Supporting domestic manufacturers is a priority in this industry and executives must be wary of the quality of the items they supply the market,” the official added.
2- Sahand University Develops Key Catalysts for Light Olefin Production
Sahand University of Technology has successfully developed nano-catalysts used in production of light olefins from methanol.
A member of the scientific board of the university said the project was aimed at indigenization of the product given its wide usage in petrochemical industries.
Iran is producing huge amounts of methanol and the use of such catalysts will help it concert methanol into more value added items like olefins.
3- Turkish Firms Ready to Finance Iran Petchem Projects—NPC
National Petrochemical Company (NPC) says a number of Turkish companies have indicated readiness to finance petrochemical projects in Iran.
Speaking to NIPNA, Hossein Alimorad, director of investment at the NPC, said NPC welcomes foreign investors and developers in the petrochemical sector both in new projects and in cooperation with production companies.
He also said foreign investors can possess portions of the stocks of Iranian petrochemical companies as per investment.
He said investors from many countries including Turkey have indicated readiness to join projects in Iran. He declined to announce their names.
Almorad further said that export is one of the main challenges of petrochemical companies in Iran, adding there are many great investment opportunities in Iran where all investors can take a piece.
