Like every Sunday, prices for polymer products were announced by the PDID office of NPC, which showed that the prices of all polymer materials were upward.
The highest increase was observed for SBR and polystyrene products, and so the SBR commodity recorded the highest price increase of 3074 Rls. and its price reached to 60.900 Rls. By the US$ value exchange on today’s closing market for 1 US$ for 42070 Rials, the price of SBR now is about 1.45 US$/Kg.
By continuous increase in the US$ value it is expected that the brokers and market intermediaries and manipulators try to only buy and stock the materials and so the hard days for converters could be expected.
Also, the GPS faced with 2.312 Rials increase and HIPS experienced the price increase of 2.045 Rls. Other commodities such as EPS and pipe and extrusion types of Polyethylene have experienced increase of more than 800 Rials per Kg.
The slightest price increase was recorded for PE film grades with an increase of 51 Rls. due to the drop in prices for this product at the global markets. Other commodities have also experienced a rising dollar appreciation.
US Dollar rate: The dollar base rate for price definitions was suggested at 41.643 Rials, which shows an increase of 515 Rials (+1.3% compared to the 41.128 Rials for last week). This US$ price increase affected the prices of the majority of polymers.
