Last week’s presence of most plastics converters at the TehranPlast  didn’t affected the polymer market, but, the market deficiency and decreasing in weekly relative demands had an amazing result. While a volume of +23.330 tons of extra demand (From 120.630 tons to 97.300) in comparison with the former week was registered for the main commodities at the IME (Iran Mercantile Exchange), the extra trade volume was only +7.800 tons.

Looking at the base prices published by the PDID office of NPC on Sun. Jan. 28th 2018 and comparing it with the prices of Jan.21st, it is easy to see that most of the grades were faced with increasing prices, which were foreseeable. Regarding the US$ domestic and global increasing values also the price calculation formula based on these two major factors, the prices of polymer materials have been expanding for the last few weeks continuously.

For the week ending to Thursday Jan. 28th, the rise in US$ value and global rates have continued to raise prices for polymeric products, with the highest increase in base prices for HDPE and rotational grade with 6 .1 percent higher than last week.

At the next level, the HIPS has raised to 5.5 and 5.4% growth compared to the previous week, with prices of 3510 and 3560 Rials higher than last former week. Different grades of PVC were also up by 4.4% with respect to the previous week, while extrusion type of HDPE was up by 4.1%.

Further, in the PE polymer products group, the linear film of LDPE and ordinary grades of HDPE have also been incremental and have increased by about 2 to 2.7% compared to the previous week. Chemical and textile PP (as referred to, in Iran) as well as PET Bottle grades have also been increasing and up about 2.6%.

The value of US$ for calculation of the base prices, also increased again by 3.1% compared to the previous week, reaching to Rials 44.528.
