Polymer Basic Prices in Iranian Polymer Market Showed Slight Changes

Today, Sun. June 24th, after two weeks, the PDID office of NPC launched new prices for polymers and other petrochemical products, that are under supervision of the IMT ministry and their purchases from the IME needs special “B-Code”. Last week, due to the early holiday on Sunday, the office refused to declare new base prices, and until today, the announced prices on June 10th, 2018, were valid for the Iranian stock exchange and the deals it was in.
Like every price announcement Sundays, we have taken a look at the changes in the prices of the base products of polymeric materials to our readers’ attention.

Altogether, this week, while the market value of US$ increased and the formulation of US$ value rose by Rials 281 (0.7 % more with respect to the previous two-weeks period) we did not see a lot of price growth for the base prices, as the prices of other commodities with lower prices, did not decrease significantly. In one word, the prices were relatively stable, and it did not happen to make anyone outrage.
The highest growth in prices was attributed to the PVC group. All kinds of PVC grades grew at their base price by 1.1%. After PVC, the extrusion grades of HDPE, PP and the blowing grade of HDPE faced with about 0.7% price rise in comparison with the last announcement.
Various types of PET bottle grades also occupied the third category of goods with half a percent growth in their prices.
Commodities such as linear stylistic polyethylene and resinous 7240 polystyrene also had a growth of less than 0.5 percent.
On the downside, however, although the number of goods and grades were lower, the decline was more and more in the increasing proportion of the polymer market.

The bright SBR 1502 with a 2% reduction in prices, for a kilogram, amounted to Rials 73.999, to be the highest in the first place. Subsequently, the extrusion grade of HDPE (PE100) dropped by 0.8% compared to the previous one with the highest price cut.

Other extrusion grades of HDPE, including PE80 and EX3 also by 0.7% price dropping stood at the third place, with the highest base price fall.

All polymer prices and their two weeks’ variations are shown at the following table:
