This week, at the end of Sept. and like the other last couple of weeks, we couldn’t see imposition of any specific formula or traditional method of definition of polymers base prices by PDID Office of NPC.
Actually, at the announced prices by the PDID Office of NPC, it does not seem that the well-known formula of this institution has been used to discover the prices of commodities and all other types of polymer grades. What is absolutely obvious is that almost all polymers have had either declined prices or if there has been any increase, the amount could have been negligible.
A number of polymer materials were unchanged in new prices and their prices remained at the same price as last week. The film grade of HDPE, grade no. 1540 of GPS, LLDPE, fibre and textile types of PP, PE 100 and PE 80 were the polymers in this group.
On the price downside, however, the situation was slightly different. Bottle grades of PET dropped by 2.8% with regards to the last week prices. This price declining was the highest among all other polymers.
After it, the 1502 grade of SBR dropped by 2.2% compared to the last week’s price and stood at the second place. The new price is even cheaper than last week, as with Rials 1650/Kg. decrease, this grade’s new price fixed at 74,286 Rls.
Other price reductions were negligible and below half a percent (0.3 percent), and at the very least the prices reduced by Rials 230 which is not so important. Polymer materials included in this category are: A variety of PVC grades, blowing HDPE, injection HDPE, rotational grade of HDPE, all grades of EPS and grade 7240 of HIPS.
Whatever be the official prices, that are basis for trades at the IME hall, it is the free market prices that govern the true payments of the converters.
Polymer base price table announced on Sun. Sep. 30th and its comparison with the last week prices. These price will remain valid till Oct. 7th.
